Review of Twelve Monkeys (1995) by Robby G — 09 Mar 2013
Twelve Monkeys is a hard movie to describe, because it's an incredibly complex movie that can be occasionally hard to follow. It is a film that constantly questions time, memory, humanity, and (most importantly) sanity.
The three main actors - Willis, Pitt, and Madeleine Stowe - all do a great job, though it is Bruce Willis (the film's lead) who really stands out. The whole time we must question his sanity because he's not even sure if he's sane.
The film is filled with great twists and, though it is a bit crazy, I actually rather enjoyed the insanity and confusion that it likes to live in. Worth a watch if you like sci-fi and psychological thrillers, though some aspects of the film (namely its visuals) are a bit dated and might turn some away.
