Review of Turkish Delight (1973) by Serdar C — 27 Jan 2008
Always controversial Dutch director Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Showgirls..) made some good movies before going to Hollywood, this is one of them and better than all the movies he made in Hollywood. Starting off like a simple erotic movie, shaping up to be a sad love story, great directing and editing, and one of the best chemistry I've seen between the two actors.
Here is the recipe: take a hollywood love story, make the characters a little weird, add lots of nudity and don't forget some vomit scenes, and make a sad ending instead of a happy one, you got yourself a Turks Fruit.
Definitely not for eveyone, but if you wanna watch a different love story for a change, this may be what you are looking for..
