Review of Tsotsi (2005) by Henrietta S — 10 Mar 2009
I simply love, love this movie! It shows how events that happen in a person's childhood, can have a major/lasting impact on their life. Presley's performance as the main character 'Totsi' is outstanding.
The 'Decency' scene with the TeacherBoy character is the highlight of the movie for me. The main character Tsotsi (Presley) is forced to examine why he does the things he does. The soundtrack (performed by the rival gang leader) provides the perfect background.
A truly great movie on all fronts. Totally totally deserved its Oscar!
