Review of True Lies (1994) by James T — 11 Oct 2012
"When he said I do, he never said what he did".
I still remember that tag-line from when the movie first came out, back in the early mid-90s. Positing the question "what if James Bond was a family man", this stars ol' Arnie Schwarzenegger as that character, married to Jamie Lee Curtis's legal secretary who is initially unaware of his true occupation, and father to a pre-Buffy Eliza Dushku (also unaware).
We all know that Arnie's acting can, at times, best be described as wooden, but that's not why you watch an Arnie movie: you watch it for the action! In that respect, and although some of the jokes might fall a bit flat, this doesn't fail.
