Review of True Confessions (1981) by Cary M — 19 Dec 2007
In a movie starring Robert DeNiro and Robert Duvall, you would think DeNiro would play the badass cop and Duvall the quiet priest and not the other way around. They both manage to play against type. That's about all there is to recommend though.
The movie comes off as a little dull. It's a competent crime thriller/mystery/ slow ass character study, but little more than that from what I saw. There are worse ways to kill two hours, but then again, there are better ways, too.
I've almost forgotten it and I just watched it yesterday.
