Review of Trouble the Water (2008) by Ross L — 06 Feb 2010
There doesn't seem to be much else to learn about Katrina in documentary form after Spike Lee's definitive "When the Levees Broke", but this doc following the trials and tribulations of the Robertses personalizes the tragedy in a potent way.
Kimberly and Scott Roberts are fully-rounded people who survive and take steps towards a stable life because of the storm; for them, the trauma of Katrina seems transformative. If only it had been for America, too.
