Review of Troll (1986) by Allan C — 01 Jun 2013
Harry Potter has trouble with a mischievous troll in this 80s classic. So it's not the Harry Potter you're thinking of, but Michael Moriarty plays Potter, the father of a family moving into an apartment building when a troll possesses his daughter.
Writer Ed Naha would later bring us classics like "Dolls" and "C.H.U.D. II" so it should come as no surprise that this film is of equally campy quality. But for a silly movie, it has a surprisingly decent cast that includes Moriarty, Shelley Hack, Brad Hall, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, June Lockhart, and Sonny Bono as a swinger.
This is also a good score by the underrated film composer Richard Band. This film is much better than the similar Charles Band production "Ghoulies." I know they are terrible movies, but I have a soft spot for Charles Band productions.
