Review of Trespass (1992) by David S — 10 Dec 2007
Surprisingly decent action thriller with excellent performances from Paxton and Sadler as two firefighters thrown into a world of crime and violence due to their greed. The plot is tight, focused, and resourceful as it makes the most of its limited location.
The direction by Walter Hill is a tough, no-nonsense approach that makes the action and situations all the more real and intense. However, the film stereotypes the villains as generic "gangsta" criminals, making them out to be cartoonish caricatures, making them out to be a less of a threat than they really should have been.
Also, though the script is indeed tight and focused, it still doesn't offer anything new or original making the overall experience is predictable. Yet it's still competently made a possess at least some degree of intelligence, making it an efficient action thriller that won't leave you feeling insulted once the credits roll.
