Review of Tremors (1990) by Simeon D — 18 Mar 2010
I found Tremors to be hilariously funny, with the classic horror movie elements in there, this is, in my opinion on of the best horror/comedies I've seen. While I admit, some parts of the movie are lacking, the comedic arts make up for it.
The sequels spun off we're mixed for me, but still didn't branch off the main point of the movie which are the horror of the Graboids and the comedic talents of the cast. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward played perfect roles of extremely funny characters.
Fred Ward as Earl Bassett was brilliant as he perfectly fit the role of the senior, yet still goofy, main character. Michael Gross as Burt Gummer was probably the MOST memorable character out of the series(especially considering he's BASICALLY in every film).
Psychopathic, Paranoid, Over-Prepared, and yet somehow genius is Burt. Overall, Tremors is an excellent movie for those who enjoy a horror movie, but can love a bit of comedy on the side. The movie goes goofy, but still keeps it's flare as a horror film.
