Review of Trees Lounge (1996) by John M — 01 Jan 2009
One of my very favorite depressing comedies. It is starring, written and directed by Steve Buscemi, everybody's favorite person in movies. It doesn't have any real resolution; you are just tagging along with Buscemi for a part of his humorously depressing life.
A lot of the story takes place in a lounge bar (and only non-depressing things occur there, right?), and the characters you meet there are one of a kind. Maybe not the greatest movie ever, but I am just in love with the mood and atmosphere that was captured in this movie.
