Review of Travellers and Magicians (2003) by Felicia C — 13 Oct 2007
A disappointing second feature from the director of The Cup. Too much proselytizing about the futility of dreams and the allure of rural simplicity, without accounting for the technology, culture and environment, in which the film will precisely be shown -- that is, "America" or the "West".
Who is this film addressing and who is it made for? The Cup dealt with that internal contradiction with humour and reflexivity. This film, unfortunately, gets one extra star from me only for the beauty of the Bhutanese landscape.
