Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Neville P — 11 Aug 2007
I wasn't incredibly impressed with this movie considering that it was directed by Alfred Hitchcock, but I do agree that some movies should be viewed over again to find pieces that were missed in the first place, which I will probably do.
I think that one of my main problems was with Julie Andrews. I have never cared for her or any of the movies she was in. I am not a fan of "The Sound of Music" or "Mary Poppins" and I found the expressions on her face to be quite annoying.
But I did find the movie interesting enough. There are several Hitchcock movies that I like so much more. It is interesting that Hitchcock originally had Bernard Hermann do the score for this movie, but fired him because he was unsatisfied and that was the last time they worked together.
That's too bad. I've always really liked Hermann's music scores and thought they were always very effective for the films.
