Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Erik W — 04 Mar 2008
I kind of wonder why this Hitchcock film is often overlooked--it has two iconic stars in Newman and Andrews as well as some signature set pieces (the fight at the farm is twisted even to today's standards).
My only guesses are: 1. It lacks a scene of genuine "showy" camera work that makes a fellow minor Hitch film like "Frenzy" referenced today. 2.The abandonment of the original Herrmann score for one that I feel is much too light.
