Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Mike P — 13 Mar 2008
In a documentary on the film, it's said that Newman wrote a letter to Hitchcock critiquing much of the script. Most of the time this would be a dick move, but everything Newman had to say was right, too bad Hitchcock didn't listen cause the movie ends up being kind of average.
It has its moments (the fight scene with the german spy, the bus scene, etc.) but overall it lacks in certain key areas (e.g. characterization, dialogue) making it worth seeing but not worth loving.
