There are some wonderful bits in this film, and lots of intriuging business that's never explained (and that's OK), but it drags on. There were several scenes that should have been cut or shortened to streamline the movie.
Instead it lacked focus. Lots of great characters, yes, but do we need to follow every one of them halfway? And do we really need an hour of Gilbert and Sullivan performances? That said, I was especially thrilled by the female characters.
