Review of Topaz (1969) by Pan L — 31 May 2008
A fascinating movie that is much better than its reputation. This isn't in Hitchcock's top tier of Vertigo, The Birds, Rear Window, Shadow of a Doubt, etc., but it's still far ahead of the movies by most other filmmakers.
The frequent shifts in perspective show Hitch working at the furthest extreme of his interest in playing around with subjectivity and audience identification.
