Review of Topaz (1969) by Dan G — 09 Feb 2009
To hear some tell it, this is one of Hitch's worst movies. Of course, what isn't said is that Hitch's worst is still better than a great deal of the other movie fare floating around Hollywood.
This is a better movie than given credit for. Yes this is a long-drawn out plot with almost no starpower and a somewhat convuluted story. But it is still ripe with the Hitchcock touch. One of the greatest scenes is the death of the female spy towards the end of the movie.
A good movie worth seeing.
