Review of Top Hat (1935) by Jessi T — 04 Oct 2007
Although the story can be a bit iffy at times, none of it matters because at the end of the day, this movie just causes an ear-to-ear grin. Partially due to my crush on Fred, but, whatever.
Fred Astaire doing his very best wiseguy, endearing lovestruck dreamguy in this flick. Ginger being Ginger.. gorgeous and talented. Absolutely fantastic songs, probably some of his more memorable, including "Cheek to Cheek" and "Isn't it a Wonderful Day?".
Musical fans have to see it, as do any seeking warm fluffy feelings throughout.
