Review of Top Hat (1935) by Bob V — 11 Apr 2011
Fred Astaire romances Ginger Rogers (in that most direct way that would seem stalker-ish today) but she mistakes him for someone else, someone married. The agony of the mix-up extends beyond the point that any sensible viewer can withstand it (and there's Edward Everett Horton to boot).
But the plot is just an excuse for dancing, of course, and the musical interludes can sweep you away into a momentary fantasia.
