Review of Top Gun (1955) by Haydn W — 20 Aug 2012
His first mainstream film after his start in commercials and music videos and, not only is it his most successful film, but a film that defined the 80s generation. We know it by heart, we playfully mock it for its obvious faults, yet after almost 30 years, you still have to enjoy Top Gun.
Amazing aerial photography and stunt coordination, this was pure entertainment. When Dennis Reynolds imagines having sex to Take my Breath Away in a blue-lit room from Always Sunny, you know that this movie affected every guy living today between 25 and 45.
Tony Scott's first attempt at making action movies and he knocked it out of the park.
