Review of Tomb Raider (2018) by The3Academysins — 21 Mar 2018
The 2018 reboot of the Tomb Raider film franchise is both a serviceable homage to the legendary video game franchise and a workable film. Stylistically, Tomb Raider is a nice throwback to 1990s action/adventure movies.
As far as the script goes, it is very bare bones, but Alicia Vikander actually gives a surprisingly human performance. She is a great Lara Croft. While the action scenes are certainly thrilling, there just isn't a whole lot of substance behind the flashiness of it.
Overall, it's an ok film if you need to turn your brain off for almost two hours.
