Although we already had an origin story of Lara Croft in the form the 2013 game, Tomb Raider (2018) managed to establish its own in a new, fresh way. Alicia Vikander portrays a young Lara who is more vulnerable, similar to the 2013 game, except her spin on Lara is definitely distinctive.

While my only complaint is that the beginning delves too much into the backstory of Lara before she undertakes her first adventure, to learn so much about this version of Lara allowed for a deeper connection to her character.

It was filled with action, and some of the sequences were reminiscent of what happened in the 2013 game, which was done so well. I do hope that we get a sequel with this Lara, because I feel that there is so much potential.
