Review of Tokyo Sonata (2008) by Jeff C — 17 Feb 2009
While the fixation is on Japan's economic crisis, there are more serious underlying social and domestic problems that is destroying the nation at the grass root level. This movie effectively captures the emotional anguish of traditional Japanese culture caught in the undercurrent of change, but more importantly offers a subtle message of hope.
