I was looking forward to it but it disappointed. It really felt like gore for the sake of gore with a crazy-like-only-Japanese-filmakers-can-do-crazy plotline added on as an afterthought. The films highlight, for me, was a fake TV commercial featuring cute young girls promoting cute/kawaii high fashion razors for self mutilating teenage girls.
The rest was crap. Watch Battle Royale or Peter Jackson's Dead Alive instead.
