The last theatrically released Hammer horror film is light years removed from the company's usual work, but it's a very entertaining and surprising film. Lee is at his absolute best as the villain, Kinski is ethereal as his intened victim, and Richard Widmark makes a stalwart hero.
SPOILER: It's a tad depressing to see the great Christopher Lee killed in his final Hammer film by a rock thrown at his head...
