Review of To Die For (1995) by Chris W — 06 Dec 2008
It's very rare that I can ever say I enjoy a performance from Nicole Kidman, but I'm willing to admit she does an excellent job in Gus Van Sant's To Die For, playing young Suzanne Stone, who wants nothing more than to become a regular TV personality but her husband (well played by Matt Dillon) is keeping her down and just wants her to stay at home and pop out babies.
There's also a great supporting cast including a young Joaquin Phoenix, Casey Affleck, and Illeana Douglas. It's a great piece of black comedy writing in addition to being an interesting study of gender in the media.
