Review of Titus (1999) by Jnanna D — 31 Oct 2007
One of the most striking and visually stunning reinterpretations of Shakespeare yet. The modern chic sensibilities of both setting and costume make the story contemporary, and the acting is magnificent at bringing characters to life.
For those who's only exposure to Shakespeare's classics is woefully limited to his pastorals or Romeo and Juliet, this movie is a refreshing and gruesome break reflecting much more poignantly on issues like the horror of war and revenge.
