Review of Titus (1999) by Chamberlaine B — 12 Jan 2008
Visually stunning, a feast for hungry eyes! Paired with Shakespeare's profound dialogue makes this inventive and ingeniously adapted version of Titus Andronicus thoroughly captivating! Although it was just under three hours, I hardly moved for fear I would miss something.
Only the disturbing story and images cause my dislike. How could so much misfortune happen?
Anthony Hopkins is stunning as a character of many faces! Cumming and Lange bring out the depth of Shakespeare's bizzare characters and we believe thier anger, thier madness, and thier sheer joy.
