Review of 'Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris (2006) by Nadica ? — 10 Apr 2009
This was a pretty interesting doc about an old Jazz musician that never made it big named Jackie Paris. The premise of the movie was trying to discover why he never made it big despite what was largely considered having enough talent to do so.
I think the movie never really answers that question, but spends a lot of time tracking down details of his life trying to piece it all together. In the end, you never really know why he didn't make it big, but you get a good profile of who he was, and that made for a pretty interesting movie in its own right.
