Review of Thunderball (1965) by Sarah B — 28 Oct 2008
This was the peak of the Bond craze in the 60's and definitely felt like the film that finally had all of the series trademarks in place and fully realized. Connery is still the best Bond because of the fact that in movies like this, he doesn't play around making lame jokes, he takes out the trash and then insults the left overs with black humour.
The underwater stuff here was awesomely done but I was kind of put off by the rather large changes to Largo (the villains) character in comparison to the book. He was much more one dimensional here. Good stuff though!
