Review of Three Monkeys (2008) by Jack D — 17 Feb 2009
Powerful stuff. The characters are so thick, multi-layered and real its as if I could smell their breath on screen. These characters just wouldn't have worked without the powerhouse performances from all the leads.
The director does a wonderful job using empty spaces to resonate emotion, thanks to the spectacular cinematography-- which is truly taking the next step in digital cinema. This is a rare, and often grim tale about corruption, crime and guilt.
