It's obvious that director Nuri Bilge Ceylan was influenced by Tarkovsky, but he cannot even be considered an apprentice to Tarkovsky considering the intensity of the works of Tarkovsky filled with philosophical elements.
Tarkovsky's influence on Ceylan is mostly cinematographic, which looks like more like an cut-paste business.
