Review of Three Days of the Condor (1975) by Naische F — 15 Jun 2009
Excellent spy thriller from director Sydney Pollack starring Robert Redford as a CIA analyst whose team is wiped out and then eventually thrusted into a field mission, having to prove his innocence. Faye Dunaway is good as the woman whom Redford meets and enlists in his mission.
Max Von Sydow is his usual creepy self as the hitman. This is the film that inspired a whole slew of espionage movies in the years to come, especially in showing us how the lines are blurred between the good and bad guys in politics and the spy business.
Redford later tried to reprise his role as an ageing spy with 'Spy Game' with Brad Pitt as a young spy, but that movie was an uninspired mess..
