Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by Jeremiah R — 19 Jan 2018
A contrived story of a mother who's daughter is raped and murdered, so she puts up a billboard about it so her son can relive his sister's death and the town can hate her. After her daughter's death, she gets a Samurai haircut and continues being a horrible person by trying to outdo her past horrible behavior by hurting everyone around her without consequences in a way that is framed as if the audience should applaud her bad decisions.
Don't forget the stereotypes and the cheap attempts to buck the said stereotypes, which makes it worse... Great acting, but horrible writing and plotting. Prepare to be frustrated all the way through to the end.
