Review of Threads (1985) by Chris B — 31 Aug 2007
Bleak. Unrelentingly bleak. Bleaker than Nick Cave covering "Gloomy Sunday" at a funeral service. Yes, Threads is that bleak. Factually correct it may not be but then again that's not really the point of the film.
Taken purely as a piece of speculative, dramatic fiction though, it's a brutal and unflinching piece of film making the like of which rarely graces terrestrial television these days.
