Review of This Is England (2007) by Dan L — 17 Jul 2009
Very good movie. Nice period piece of early 80's England taken from the perspective of a 12 year old boy coping with the loss of his Dad in the Falklands war. He escapes his sorrow by joining a gang of skin heads.
The movie had the potential of becoming very predictable but managed to stay interesting. Every time I expected the story line to go over the top with violence, it controlled itself and kept to a very realistic path.
I would definitely recommend this one.
