(1944) Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo.
WAR/ DRAMA.
Based on a true story with a book written by Ted W. Lawson and then screenplayed by Dalton Trumbo! More drama than war where much of the story focuses on a particular husband Van Johnson as Ted Lawson as a military air bomber as he veers toward bombing Tokyo during WWII. Almost like a step by step process except that protagonist's wife Ellen (Phyllis Thaxter) express alot of thoughts with each one another and feels somewhat repititive! The best highlight which doesn't happened until slightly more than an hour into the film is when the particular plane crashed into the Chinese mainland and were then taken care of by the people who live there! Everything else in this film is very relative and I know they're probably more interesting true war stories on the history channel than the story shown on this film. Robert Mitchum, Robert Walker (Strangers On A Train) and Spencer Tracy as Lieutenant Colonel Doolittle also stars in this film too!
2.5 out of 4.
