Review of They Live (1988) by Lafe B — 25 Aug 2009
A great pre-Matrix view of the possible puppeteers that control society. The special effects are perfect for this movie (even though outdated by todays standards, it just helps to set this movie aside for how original it truly is), especially the way the sunglasses uncover the "truth.
" John Carpenter sets it up so smoothly and then goes after it with a machine gun! Honestly, its a realistic approach to what one person would be able to do in the face of complete corruption when he has nothing but his wits and some ammo!
