Review of They Live (1988) by Sam C — 10 Jun 2012
A power-fueled, kick ass rampage through the 1980's economy filled with people who look so damn sharp in their sunglasses. The movie starts of a little slow, but don't let that put you off.
Roddy Piper is drifter who just happens to stumble upon the truth: aliens control the planet and put subliminal messages in everything to keep the human race thriving on consumerism and reproduction. The American dream, right? There plan soon turns to shit when Roddy stumbles upon a pair of specially enhanced sun glasses that let him see through the alien's facade.
Watch Roddy Piper have a five minute long fight in an alleyway. Watch Roddy Piper have a glass bottle smashed over his head plummet from four stories and down a hill and come out unscathed. Watch Roddy Piper single handedly wield a machine gun and mow down aliens. Watch a woman have sex with an alien and hear him say, "What's wrong baby?".
Obey.
