One of the most subversive films of modern times. I'm kind of surprised people kept funding John Carpenter after it. Rowdy Roddy Piper rules in this. The epic incredibly long fight scene is a bonus, and there is a South Park episode where there's a cripple fight that is in fact a shot for shot homage to this fight scene; there's a director's commentary split screen of it around that you can probably Google for.

This is one of the most re-makeable movies of the last few decades and even though it'd be hard to top the original I'm kind of surprised no one has done it.
