Review of They Live (1988) by Sebastian I — 31 May 2011
This movie is not one of Carpenter's best. It's interesting because it makes a statement against the power of the media, but the movie in itself is clumsy on many levels, the music is inappropriate and the characters are erratic.
The social commentary has been made elsewhere in similar movies and with much more efficiency (Blade Runner, Robocop, Total Recall, The Running Man).
