Review of Thelma & Louise (1991) by Ryan G — 19 Jun 2011
For the most part I enjoyed it but this movie is so flawed and chalk full of errors that it is impossible for me to call it great or even a classic for that matter. There were several moments that took away from my willing suspension of disbelief like the blowing up of the truck with a few pistol shots, and the radio music playing in the cop car after Louise shot out both of the radios, little things like that are hard to overlook for me for some reason.
Geena Davis is pretty funny as Thelma, Sarandon's performance was sort of interesting. Keitel was classic cool and Madsen was as well. It's sort of a fun movie with ups and downs. Zimmer's score is pretty atmospheric.
It's not great by any means, but it is what it is, if I could rate it on a scale of 1-10 I would give it about a 7.3.
