Review of The Young and the Damned (1950) by Marco V — 12 Jul 2011
The Mexican -A Clockwork orange- Brutal, Shocking, Disturbing and Honest; with sequences that will stay in my mind forever. Banuel has made one of his greatest masterpieces with this, it is unbelievable.
The social ideas behind this film are all real, I have seen the horrors, this film didn't failed to show that. The film that seriously introduced me to Mexican Cinema, and the worst is that I am half-Mexican! One of my personal favorites.
I compare this to A clockwork Orange not because of the gang themes with cruel manners, but because of the idea of changing, a soul in despair can also be cured. Los Olvidados, nunca los olvidare. One of the greatest Mexican Films.
