Review of The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974) by Alicia R — 18 Aug 2007
Everybody who has seen this knows why it rules--Heat Miser and Snow Miser. If you have never seen this, look for it on TV during Christmas, or buy it, or get it from a library, or something. Besides being a cute story and featuring Mickey Rooney (who is not dead yet, much to my dismay) as the voice of Santa, imagine two dueling elements--one steaming hot diabolical baddie and one who looks like John Kerry in Antarctica without a coat.
The songs are too great for words. Even if this movie sucked (which it doesn't), I'd give it 5 stars for the sentimental value it holds.
