Review of The Yakuza (1974) by Private U — 02 Sep 2011
Interesting and engaging mix of samurai and film noir genres has Mitchum aiding long time friend in Japan after his friends daughter is kidnapped. Interestingly enough the movie in not really about the case but of the cultural changes, loyalty and the power of having a debt.
Great action and atmosphere with a few nice surprises thrown in.
