Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Jack B — 03 Jul 2013
This movie is great for movie goers and even better if you are a wrestling fan (like me). Mickey Rourke gives one of the best acting performances I have ever watched as he nails the life of an aging professional wrestler.
The movie is a little light on comedy but there are some funny scenes, and the wrestling scenes are just great. I admit The movie makes you sad at times but you'll end up loving Rourkes character and will have to hold back tears at the end.
(Spoilers) I think the ending is beautiful (though sad) as Rudy knows he will die, and he wants to die in the only place where he matters, the ring. This movie is a must see heartbreaking drama for both wrestling fans and movie watchers.
