Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Nickthecritick — 12 Nov 2022
A now old and tired Wrestler tries to physically prepare for his latest fight while trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter as the only way to redemption for a dissolute life led in the name of success and excess.
ARONOFSKY SHIFTS THE SCENE LIGHTS FROM THE RING TO THE BREAKED SOUL OF A MAN WITHOUT EVER EXCEEDING IN THE DRAMATIZATION FOR ITSELF. The result is a genuinely harthbreaking movie, easily Aronofskyi's best to a level where it has never been repeated.
