Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Jacob S — 02 Apr 2013
The incredible thing about this film, of course, is that it's as much about the fictional character that Mickey Rourke plays as it is about Mickey Rourke himself. He's never quite got the breakout role that was really meant for him, and so he's never had the chance to show himself fully.
I really liked him in "Get Carter" (go watch it, it really is good), and I think he's really going to shine in this movie. Oh, and it's Darren Aronofsky.
