Review of The World of Suzie Wong (1960) by J C — 14 Dec 2007
A pretty good fifties soap opera. The best thing about the film was that much of the film was actually shot on location in Hong Kong. William Holden is as charming as ever, and Nancy Kwan is very beautiful, but has trouble pretending not to be able to speak English.
It is nice to see an older film in which Asian actors got to show some of their talents, as opposed to having caucasian actors do a rather ridiculous imitation.
