Review of The World of Apu (1959) by Eric On His Fantasy Quest V — 12 Mar 2008
The third and final installment of Satyajit Ray's famous "Apu" trilogy is probably the most cinematically polished of the three films. It's better than the second one and almost as good as the first one.
This time, it follows Apu's adulthood. It explores his marriage and fatherhood in both it's joys and it's sorrows. The ending is positively moving.
